Could not resolve the revers polarity with the inverter so I sent it back since the manufacturer could not even help. Replace it with a ProMariner 2000 and just finished installing it. The inverter is installed directly to the house batteries with the appropriate size cables and the AC side is connected to the Blue Seas selector switch to go from shore power to inverter. It is wired to the boats AC ground via a lug on the case. Wired it all up and turned it on. Everything works as advertised and all of the AC circuits test just fine. Battery levels are good as the charger is sitting at 13.52 volts. But we happen to hear a clicking sound and look up at the engine instruments. The hour meter is running with the key off and when I turn the power switch off for the inverter it stops. The weird part is it does this intermittently and will stop for a while then start again and if I turn the key switch on when it stops the meter continues to run when the key is turned off. I have checked everything I know but perhaps there is something I am missing. Nothing else seems to be affected and none of the engine gages are on unless I switch on the key.
